The Government of Canada should explore how its action plan can support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Open Government Partnership (OGP) has published a guide with example commitments from OGP countries [1] and a commentary on how the OGP can accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development [2]. With respect to Goal 13, Climate Action, the World Resources Institute has prepared an issue brief [3].

I note that the Government of Canada, through IDRC, has already engaged with the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data [4]. However, more work can be done within Canada in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

As reference for anyone wishing to contribute to this proposal and how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can be achieved within Canada, the SDGs are:

1. No Poverty
2. Zero Hunger
3. Good Health and Well-Being
4. Quality Education
5. Gender Equality
6. Clean Water and Sanitation
7. Affordable and Clean Energy
8. Decent Work and Economic Growth
9. Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
10. Reduced Inequalities
11. Sustainable Cities and Communities
12. Responsible Consumption and Production
13. Climate Action
14. Life Below Water
15. Life on Land
16. Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
17. Partnership for the Goals
