Many times I have heard fellow Canadians complain that government processes take too long, or fellow public servants who complain about the slow turnover times of approvals, and they are right. In many cases, vertical silos slow the processes of approval and ultimately of delivering timely services to Canadians. I propose that as part of reporting, federal departments should be required to report on their approval turnover time. If we are going to be open to Canadians, we should take accountability for the inefficiencies that ultimately result in slowed service delivery.
