Hi Farooq, If you could not find your NOC in the list, please do the following: Try searching on http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp?_ga=2.133870798.1337263978.1502716846-1125056623.1484331981 If you could not find your NOC there, please do the following: 1. Search your job title 2. Find the closest match in the list 3. Make sure the main duties listed match what you did at your job, if they don't, you will need to find a different job title with duties that match yours 4. Write down the numeric code and job title. Example: 7253 Gas fitters 5. Enter the number in the “Filter items” field of the above table and note the skill level or type in the last column I hope this helps. Momin The Open Government team

Here is the response from the dataset owner: "As this question is regarding the content of the NOC dataset, it is better sent to Statistics Canada subject matter experts. The question can be directed to infostats@statcan.gc.ca. Otherwise please view the supplementary HTML and PDF documentation and Program links on the dataset for further information and contacts." My position title is technology & materials research intern, I cannot find it in the NOC list. What kind of occupation should I belong to?

Hi, have you visited the NOC 2011 classifications website? A starting point would be to use the Search button to see if there are matching NOC codes to your occupation: http://www23.statcan.gc.ca/imdb/p3VD.pl?Function=getVDPage1&db=imdb&dis=2&adm=8&TVD=122372 If that doesn't work, general questions about occupation classifications may be answered here: http://www.statcan.gc.ca/eng/concepts/occupation And you can always ask specific questions to STATCAN.infostats-infostats.STATCAN@canada.ca. Harder to search info than previous version (PDF version)... doesn't return results efficiently.

The new version is most difficult to navigate!
